Greening transport 2013-SK-92040-S

Commercial deployment of interurban EV freight logisics infrastructure, including comparison study of battery swap and fast charge technology

One of the main obstacles of using electric vehicles for light freight transport is the lack of charging facilities along the road network. This Action will help to mitigate this problem in Slovakia through a pilot deployment of two energy hubs (both consisting of battery swapping and fast charging stations) for light commercial electric vehicles enabling electric freight transport between cities.

The Action consists of studies that will analyse in detail the technical, economic and environmental aspects of light commercial electric vehicles use. Results will be shared with the relevant authorities and transport stakeholders.

The Action is expected to facilitate and develop the use of e-mobility services in the Slovak market and help to reduce the environmental footprint of freight transport.
