Quality, safety, security for passengers at Budapest Ferihegy International Airport

Programme:

This project deals with the upgrade of the existing passenger Terminals 2A and 2B at Budapest Ferihegy International Airport into a consolidated Terminal 2 that will allow the airport to meet European standards for passenger treatment, security procedures, border control and building efficiency.

The design of the existing Terminals 2A and 2B was initially conceived only for international (non-Schengen region) travel. Support processes such as baggage handling are currently fragmented and do not correspond to the expectations of the Schengen Treaty and other EU Member States.

The new Terminal 2 will consist of upgraded terminals 2A and 2B, a future Sky Court that replaces the central part of these existing terminals, and links to new Piers A and B.

The project is also complemented by EERP project 2009-HU-00018-E, Construction of a pier for combined Schengen and non-Schengen operations and seamless passenger transfer at Budapest Airport.
