In their efforts to deliver and replicate smart city solutions, nine Smart Cities Lighthouse projects managed by INEA signed a Cooperation Manifesto in Nottingham (UK).
The signing ceremony hosted representatives of the projects that – altogether - span over 50 towns and cities across Europe. The signing of the manifesto seals the cooperation that is already a reality within the lighthouse project communityand is a result of the initiative of INEA and Directorate General for Energy who wished to encourage cooperation between the nine Smart Cities Lighthouses projects to create synergies between them. The manifesto is being seen as a further crucial step in the EU’s endeavours to spread project outcomes further afield and use them beyond the projects themselves.
Nottingham, a city recognised for its strong ecological drive, was an ideal setting for project partners to pledge their commitment to sharing project outcomes. A study tour was organised by the REMOURBAN project to discuss replication, business models and SCC barriers, and to show the intermediate results of the Nottingham demo site. The results for the trip were published in a report.
