Over €800 million requested for H2020 energy projects

INEA has received 145 project proposals by today's deadline of the Competitive Low-Carbon Energy call, requesting over €800 million in total EU funding. The total available budget for six topics that closed today is €118.3 million. Evaluation of the project proposals will start in March.

 

The topics open for submission were:

 

  • Renewable energy technologies: Developing the next generation of renewable energy technologies:
  • LCE-07-2016-2017 Developing the next generation technologies of renewable electricity and heating/cooling
  • LCE-08-2016-2017 Development of next generation biofuel technologies

 

  • Renewable energy technologies: Fostering international cooperation in the area of renewable energy
  • LCE-23-2016 International Cooperation with Mexico on geothermal energy

 

  • Enabling the decarbonisation of the use of fossil fuels during the transition to a low-carbon economy
  • LCE-24-2016 International Cooperation with South Korea on new generation high-efficiency capture processes 
  • LCE-25-2016 Utilisation of captured CO2 as feedstock for the process industry

 

  • Social, economic and human aspects of the energy system
  • LCE-31-2016 Social Sciences and Humanities Support for the Energy Union

Evaluation of all the topics above is expected to start in March 2016. Applicants will receive the evaluation results by 15 July at the latest.

 

External evaluators of project proposals are drawn from the European Commission's independent expert database.
