INEA has received 98 project proposals in the latest round of the Horizon 2020 Low-Carbon energy calls for funding projects that closed last week. Over €404 M was requested by applicants, the total available budget is €56 M. According to estimates, 12 to 15 projects may be funded through these funds (indicative).
Successful projects will focus on developing technologies for capturing, storing and conversion of CO2 and contribute to the transition to clean energy through researching its social aspects, modelling, building education and research capabilities and focusing on coal-intensive regions.

The results of the evaluation will be known no later than 6 February 2019. The selection of projects will be carried out by external independent experts. These evaluators are drawn from the European Commission's database.
