Over €24.5 million requested for CEF Telecom projects

The Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) has received 76 project proposals by the 21 September deadline for the CEF Telecom 2017-2 call , requesting over €24.5 million in total EU funding. The total available budget for the call is €25.5 million. Evaluation of the project proposals with the help of external experts will start in October.

 

The CEF Telecom 2017-2 call closed yesterday 21 September with INEA receiving 76 project proposals in total in the areas of Cyber Security, eDelivery, eHealth and eProcurement (breakdown below).

Admissibility and eligibility of the project proposals will now be checked and the proposals will then be evaluated against the specific award criteria of the call. The evaluation process, which will involve external experts, is expected to be concluded by February 2018, when the final results will be announced.

The projects selected will focus on:

  • Cyber Security to create, maintain or expand national capacities to run a range of cyber security services in order to reach a state of preparedness that allows national and/or governmental (n/g) Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs)/Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) in all Member States to participate on an equal footing in the Cyber Security Core Service Platform - cooperation mechanisms
     
  • eDelivery to promote the uptake and speed up the use of the eDelivery technical specifications amongst both public and private entities, allowing for secured, traceable, cross-border transmission of electronic documents
     
  • eHealth to improve access to care and quality of care using information and communication technologies (ICTs)
     
  • eProcurement to reduce red tape and administrative burdens and create new business opportunities

 

The CEF Telecom 2017-2 opened on 6 May.
