INEA has received 89 project proposals by today's deadline of the Competitive Low-Carbon Energy and Smart Cities & Communities calls, requesting over €700 million in total EU funding. The total available budget for three topics that closed today is €153.7 million. Evaluation of the project proposals will start in April.
€97.66 million in total were available for project proposals under two topics of the of the Competitive Low-Carbon Energy call in the area 'Towards an integrated EU Energy system':
One topic SCC-1-2016-2017 with a total available budget of €60 million was open for Smart Cities and Communities lighthouse project proposals.

Evaluation of all the topics is expected to start in April 2016. Applicants will receive the evaluation results by 5 September at the latest.
External evaluators of project proposals are drawn from the European Commission's independent expert database. The Commission is looking to expand the database through a call for experts covering a very broad range of fields.
