Creation date: September 15, 2020
The 4-day fully online Urban Mobility Days 2020 taking place from 29 September to 2 October under the theme “zero-emission mobility for all” will bring together policymakers, local authorities, academics, NGOs, industry, urban transport practitioners and planners to discuss and exchange expertise on the latest urban mobility trends and technologies.
INEA will be actively involved in the discussions with a number of EU-funded projects managed under the Horizon 2020 Transport programme. The projects will present their results and success stories in several areas of urban mobility, their solutions and measures being developed and demonstrated throughout Europe.
Besides chairing and taking part in five parallel sessions, INEA will also contribute to the policy debate by organising a plenary session with high-level speakers on 30 Sept (09:00 – 10:25), titled ‘’Turning policy into implementation: sourcing the resources’’. The session, chaired by INEA’s head of department Alan Haigh, and with the participation of INEA’s director Dirk Beckers, will look at how the EU funding programmes contribute to the achievement of the Commission’s political priorities, the status of the preparation of the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and its programmes, and at how the needs of Europeans and stakeholders are integrated through consultation and co-creation.
The Urban Mobility Days 2020 combine the CIVITAS Forum Conference and the European Conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs). The conference will also go beyond transport by connecting zero-emission mobility initiatives with broader EU efforts to tackle climate change and make Europe a carbon-neutral continent by 2050. Conference activities will also address the resilience of urban mobility in unforeseen circumstances, and take stock of lessons learned to date during the COVID-19 pandemic.
