Following the adoption of the CEF Telecom Work Programme 2018, which outlines the general objectives, priorities and expected impacts of the actions that will be supported in the field of Digital Service Infrastructures (DSIs), the 2018 CEF Telecom call planning has been published.
CEF Digital Services Infrastructures are the elementary units required by the Digital Single Market to meet the needs of businesses and citizens in their cross-border activities.
In 2018 the Digital Service Infrastructures launched in the past three years will be expanded. The 2018 CEF Telecom calls for proposals will provide support for activities related to:
- eIdentification and eSignature
- Safer Internet
- Automated Translation
- Public Open Data
- Cyber Security
- Online Dispute Resolution
- European e-Justice Portal
The information on the calls for proposals will be public and shared on the website of the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) which manages them and follows up the technical and financial implementation of the projects.
CEF Telecom, in its part dedicated to the digital services infrastructure deployment, is designed to deploy this infrastructure across the EU, based on mature technical and organisational solutions to support exchanges and collaboration between citizens, businesses and public authorities. CEF Telecom focuses on providing functioning services which are ready to be deployed and which will be maintained over time, as opposed to developing pilots or technologies.
The vision for CEF Telecom is that by 2020 it will deliver concrete benefits to citizens, businesses and administrations across the EU through mutually reinforcing and complementary digital service infrastructures and broadband networks, making the Digital Single Market more effective and contributing to economic growth.
