Creation date: July 18, 2017
Today it took place the first meeting to prepare the Grant Agreement for the BENEFIC project in INEA. This project is the first one under CEF Transport 2016 to finance a Grant Scheme.
The BENEFIC Action aims at supporting the roll-out for the cross-border deployment of alternative fuel infrastructure in Belgium (regions of Flanders and Brussels Capital) and in the Netherlands.
The Action consists on a grant scheme that will address several priorities on innovation and on the deployment of alternative fuels (fast and semi-fast charging points, Liquefied and Compressed Natural Gas, Hydrogen, Onshore Power Supply and innovation on core nodes). A joint call for proposals will be launched in 2017 and the Action results could lead to its replicability in other regions and/or countries of EU.
But what is a Grant Scheme?
A Grant Scheme is like a "cascade Grant" system where a public operator decides to support the deployment of Innovation/alternative fuels and organises himself a Call. CEF is then supporting financially this call which opens more widely the access to CEF funds to smaller operators.
