Creation date: April 4, 2017
Following the adoption of the 2017 CEF Energy Work Programme, the 2017 CEF Energy Call for Proposals will open end of April. The funding made available under the Connecting Europe Facility is up to €800 million for grants, which will be managed by INEA.
The projects which can apply to be selected for funding must feature on the European Commission's list of 195 'Projects of Common Interest' (PCIs). The 2017 call for proposals will finance projects of common interest in the energy sector, helping to achieve the broader energy policy objectives of:
• increasing competitiveness by promoting the further integration of the internal energy market and the interoperability of electricity and gas networks across borders;
• enhancing Union security of energy supply; and
• contributing to sustainable development and protection of the environment, inter alia by the integration of energy from renewable sources and by the development of smart energy networks.
