164 proposals submitted for H2020 funding for energy projects

INEA has received 164 project proposals, requesting almost €680 m, by yesterday's deadline for two Competitive Low-Carbon calls focusing on developing and optimising renewable energy technologies (LC-SC3-RES-1-2019-2020 and LC-SC3-RES-14-2019).

The proposals will be evaluated in a two-stage selection process. The initial evaluation will start now. The applicants will be informed in their proposals were successful by 16 January 2019. Successful candidates will be invited to submit a full proposal by 25 April 2019 at 5 PM (Brussels time). The results of the final selection will be known by 25 September 2019 the latest. The selection of projects will be done by independent external experts. These evaluators are drawn from the European Commission's database. The Commission is looking to expand the database through a call for experts covering a very broad range of fields. 

The total available budget in these two calls is €40 m. According to estimates, up to eight projects, four in each call, may be funded through these funds.
