The overall objective of the Action is to deploy an LNG Bunker Terminal (LNG BT) at the “Muelle A-6 de la Ampliación” in the core port of Bilbao on the Atlantic Corridor. This terminal will be capable to bunker different kind of vessels.

The Action encompasses the executive engineering, construction, installation and commissioning of the LNG bunkering terminal. The terminal will consist of an unloading facility for semi-trailers tank, storage, pumping system and a vessel-supply-transfer facility. The storage capacity will be approximately of 1,000 m3 of LNG.

The Action will contribute to sustainable maritime transport by increasing the availability of a cleaner alternative fuel, reducing ship’s pollutant emissions (SOx, NOx, COs). It is part of the broader LNGHIVE2 project, the Spanish flagship initiative for LNG maritime fuel deployment in Southern Europe.

This Action has been selected in the context of the CEF Blending facility Call, where the CEF support is coupled with a substantial investment by a financial institution.
