The Action is part of a Global Project which will link urban and regional traffic to national network and fill the missing link along the Barcelona-Marseille-Genoa Mediterranean Arc.

It is implemented on the Marseille-Toulon-Nice-Ventimiglia-Genoa section of the Core Network.

It consists of the following activities:
• comparison of adaptation scenarios
• finalisation of the functional and technical program to remove congestion at the Marseille, Toulon and Nice railway nodes
• project management, communication and consultations

The Action contributed to the increase in the capacity of this rail network, providing an alternative route to the line along the coast, which currently is among the most heavily trafficked in France and used by both commuters and long distance passengers.
