The Action, connected to the North Sea-Baltic, Scandinavian-Mediterranean, North Sea-Mediterranean and Rhine Alpine Core Network Corridors, successfully delivered on its main objective. It has environmentally upgraded two MoS container transport links between the TEN-T Core ports of Helsinki (Finland), Rotterdam (the Netherlands) and Teesport (United Kingdom) and has ensured their compliance to the environmental regulation. In addition, it has addressed the bottleneck of insufficient container handling capacity in the ports and has improved the energy efficiency of the whole logistics chain.

The planned investments were fully implemented:
• Four newly built, large container vessels were equipped with the latest dual-fuel LNG engine technology and energy efficiency measures.
• Ship-to-shore cranes for cargo handling were purchased and installed in the ports of Helsinki, Rotterdam and Teesport. A new gate automated facility was implemented in the Port of Teesport.
• Container Visibility and Transparency (CVT) system for container tracking was piloted and deployed in the Port of Teesport.

The Action contributed to deployment of alternative fuels, efficient energy sources and reduction of air pollution from shipping. It increased the cargo handling capacity and improved the productivity of the ports operations.
