The Action covers ERTMS Baseline 3 trackside deployment on 6 cross-border sections and 2 Core Network Corridor gaps located in Germany. In particular it concerns the design and deployment on 228 km (in double-track equivalent) and the design for further 35 km (in double-track equivalent). The sections form parts of the Atlantic, North Sea-Baltic, Rhine-Alpine, Rhine-Danube and Scandinavian-Mediterranean Core Network Corridors.

Completion of the Action will contribute to interoperability on border crossings with Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Netherlands, and Poland along the above mentioned Core Network Corridors.
The Action is a part of a global project aiming at the deployment of ETCS on all cross border sections and gaps of the Core Network Corridors in Germany by the end of 2030.
