The Action, being the part of Ostrów Mazowiecka–Budzisko S61 Global Project, deals with the construction of a 109.94 km long S61 expressway. This section starts in Szczuczyn and ends in Budzisko, the border crossing point with Lithuania.

The Action only covers the construction of the following four sections:

  1. Szczuczyn bypass - 2nd carriageway
  2. Szczuczyn–Raczki
  3. Suwałki by-pass
  4. Suwałki-Budzisko

Its implementation will contribute significantly to completion of the Global Project and thus to the creation of a nearly 200 km long section of trans-European Core Transport Corridor, offering numerous benefits connected with travel speed, comfort safety and efficiency to users not only within the Baltic region but also the wider EU. It will also contribute to form the express road together with accompanying infrastructure, constituting part of trans-European transport network TEN-T that will back intelligent and sustainable development.
