The Core network port of Rijeka is the largest maritime port of Croatia. The Action aims at upgrading the railway connection between Rijeka and the Adriatic Gate Container Terminal, also known as Brajdica, one of 5 locations of the port of Rijeka. It is located on the Mediterranean Corridor and is part of a Global Project that aims to develop and improve connections among the North Adriatic ports.

The Action consists of the following activities:

  • Project management
  • Construction of an intermodal terminal for loading/unloading of containers
  • Reconstruction of the railway station Rijeka-Brajdica
  • The construction of a new track in the connecting tunnel

The Action will have a positive impact on traffic management, interoperability, service quality, and safety and security, and will also improve the railway freight capacity of the port.
