The ATLANTIS Motorway of the Sea (MoS) wider benefit Action involved a partnership of ports and port regions in Brest (France), Leixoes (Portugal) and Liverpool (UK), working together with a range of other stakeholders to complete all the necessary preparations for the launch of new Ro-Ro and Lo-Lo MoS services along the Atlantic coast of Europe, including intermodal rail freight links between the ports and other regions such as between Brest and the Paris and Lyon areas and between Liverpool and the rest of Great Britain.

An investment programme was developed for the implementation of necessary services at the three ports to provide integrated short-sea shipping solutions along the pre-defined 'Atlantis' MoS freight route.
