European Blockchain Service Infrastructure(EBSI) allows the delivery of cross-border public services based on the blockchain technology, enhancing the way citizens, government and businesses interact. EBSI consists of a peer-to-peer network of interconnected nodes running a blockchain-based services infrastructure.

The Action will support participation and contribution of French stakeholders to the EBSI in particular as regards diploma use case. Specifically, the Action will cover:

1) The setup and operation of EBSI nodes (for RENATER and BCdiploma);

2) EBSI cross-border use cases by testing and deploying the solution of BCdiploma on EBSI. This application automates the issuance of certified diplomas and certificates. At the end of 2022, the application will be deployed at ULille. The application will be tested as part of diploma use case and it will include testing of verifiable credentials, self-sovereign identity and notarisation.

3) EBSI capacity building and training activities by communicating on the Action to higher education institutions and key stakeholders(ULille). RENATER and BCdiploma will provide feedback on the EBSI nodes to their networks. Moreover, the Action will cooperate with other Member States (other CEF funded Actions) in the diploma use case.
