eInvoicing Directive 2014/55/EU

Last modified:
April 2022

The CEF eInvoicing building block supports public administrations in complying with the eInvoicing Directive 2014/55/EU, in particular the new European eInvoicing standard (EN16931).

The Action's objective is to uptake the eInvoicing solutions in 22 hospitals from Hungary and Portugal, facilitating the implementation of the European eInvoicing Standard in line with the requirements of the Directive 2014/55/EU. The upgraded solutions will include both UBL 2.1 and CEFACT/CII syntaxes.

It also includes the implementation of an eInvoicing tool for the SPMS (Serviços Partilhados do Ministério da Saúde) agency of the Portuguese Ministry of Health for the validation and processing of compliant electronic invoices issued to any public hospital or health centres of the five Regional Administrations in Portugal.

The Action is built on the results of previous CEF funded Actions by using an existing eDelivery AS4 Access point.

The Action will also carry out promotion and dissemination activities targeting public entities and researchers interested in the eInvoicing solution.
