The CEF eDelivery building block supports public administrations to exchange electronic data and documents with other public administrations, businesses and citizens, in an interoperable, secure, reliable and trusted way.

The main objective of the Action is to promote the use of the eDelivery DSI (Digital Service Infrastructure) amongst private and public entities by integrating the AS4 messaging protocol, and their respective Service Metadata Publishers (SMP) in six certified PEPPOL Access Points (AP) from different Member States.

These APs of the Electronic Data Interchange providers of the consortium are currently linked to the Electronic Registered Delivery Services (ERDS) of their cloud platforms.

These ERDS are used in several Member States and were developed according to the requirements set in the eIDAS Regulation. Therefore, the implementation of each AP covers the transition from AS2 to eDelivery AS4 profile, which will automatically allow their current clients to continue to operate via PEPPOL network in future.

By promoting the use of eDelivery DSI this Action will give a large number of European entities, which are already using the eDelivery services provided by the members of AS4EDI consortium, access to the cross-border exchange of electronic documents based on the eDelivery AS4 Profile.
