2018-EU-IA-0024

The CEF eID building block helps public administrations and private online service providers to easily extend the use of their online services to citizens from other EU Member States.

The Action aims at facilitating the student’s mobility. It will seek to combine the benefits of eIDAS eIDs and student and researchers identities (eduGAIN and European Student Identifier) to enable cross-sector interoperability between eIDAS and Higher Education/Research domains. This will be achieved through the deployment of the SEAL linking service platform, which will establish inter-linking mechanisms between identities.

The platform will use existing software solutions, leverage the results of Action 2017-EU-IA-0032 (ESMO Gateway) and integrate a blockchain to reinforce to provide a higher degree of trust. The connection to the eIDAS Network will be ensured through the integration with the eIDAS node (Greek or Spanish).

Once the SEAL linking service platform is established, the services of HEI (Higher Education Institutions) will be customized and integrated with the SEAL platform.

Finally, the action will also study how the linking service can attract more client services to ensure its future maintenance as well as adoption by GÉANT/NRENs and integration by HEIs. Cordination with the Action 2018-EU-IA-0036 will be ensured.
