The CEF eID Digital Service Infrastructure (DSI) helps public administrations and private online service providers to easily extend the use of their online services to citizens from other EU Member States. It allows cross-border authentication, which enables citizens of one European country to use their national eIDs to securely access services provided in other European countries. The mutual recognition of eID schemes across Europe is mandated by eIDAS Regulation 910/2014. CEF eID grants support the Member States in the roll-out of the eIDAS Network and connection of online services (provided by public administrations and private sector organisations) to this network, making these services accessible across borders and allowing them to enjoy the legal recognition brought by eIDAS.
The objective of the Action is to deploy an eIDAS node in Lithuania by upgrading and operating for one year the current Lithuanian National electronic identification information system (NETAIS) node with the latest version of eIDAS technical specifications.
Moreover, connections with the national eGovernment gateway State Information Resources Interoperability Platform (SIRIP) to the eIDAS node will be updated. All Lithuanian national identification provider solutions offered by SIRIP will be mapped to the eIDAS Levels of Assurance.
