The Action responds to the increasing importance of cybersecurity and to the necessity of protection against cyber-attacks both at the national and European level. It will facilitate cross-border cooperation in Europe in the field of cybersecurity, by developing and providing national and/or governmental Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) and/or Computer Security Information Response Teams (CSIRTs) with a “Routing hijack monitoring” software. The software will be designed as an extension of the EU Core Service Platform (CSP), hence as a part of Cybersecurity Core Service Platform (CSP) MeliCERTes. Cross-border cooperation will also be facilitated by the participation to the CSIRT Network and in the Task Force on Computer Security Incident Response Teams (TFCSIRT) meetings.

Moreover, the competences of both partners – the CZ.NIC Association, operating the national security team CSIRT.CZ and the NIX.CZ Association, operating independent Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) in the Czech Republic will be enhanced. Staff capacity of CSIRT.CZ and NIX.CZ will be improved, by hiring specialized personnel and by training the current staff. During the action, both organizations will prepare for the tasks and responsibilities arising from the Directive on Security of Network and Information Systems (NIS Directive).
