eInvoicing Directive 2014/55/EU

Last modified:
August 2019

The CEF eInvoicing building block supports public administrations in complying with eInvoicing Directive 2014/55/EU, in particular European standard on electronic invoicing (EN).

The Action's objective was to promote and accelerate the uptake of eInvoicing in the healthcare sector. The Action added e-Invoicing tools in EDICOM B2B Cloud Platform to ease the adoption of the e-Invoicing Directive 2014/55/EU . It also implemented a multi-syntax solution able to handle e-invoicing in multiple standards, according to the needs of participants (hospitals and laboratories) with their own ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems. Moreover, it further implemented EDICOM B2B Cloud Platform in the systems of 4 hospitals and 3 laboratories. The implementation in 2 French hospitals, as foreseen in the grant agreement, has not been carried out.

As a result of the Action, EDICOM B2B Cloud Platform is able to support the exchange of electronic invoices compliant with the EN and 7 entities (4 hospitals and 3 laboratories for the Netherlands, Ireland, Poland, Spain and UK) are ready to send and/or receive electronic invoices compliant with the EN. Those entities can also use PEPPOL Network for the exchange of e-invoices.
The Action is followed by related Action 2016-EU-IA-0096 and 2017-EU-IA-0146.
