€4.6 billion is available for 2014-2020 for the energy sector under the Connecting Europe Faclity programme. The majority of the funding is made in the form of allocated grants following competitive calls for proposals.
The 2020 CEF Energy call for proposals will make nearly €980 million available to finance Projects of Common Interest (PCIs) in the energy sector, namely in electricity, gas, smart grids and cross-border carbon dioxide network infrastructure.
