The Commission is responsible for ensuring that Member States correctly apply EU law and transpose directives. To that end, it uses a number of tools such as formal infringement procedures, but also informal dialogues, called EU Pilot. This public register illustrates the Commission's enforcement activities and Member States' compliance with EU law through interactive maps and customisable graphs. It also provides up-to-date information about individual cases.
