EXIT working group (RAN EXIT)

The EXIT Working Group deals with the process of moving from a radicalised and violent mindset and/or environment towards mainstream society. The process is also referred to as ‘deradicalisation’ (leaving radical ideology), ‘disengagement’ (leaving radical environment and violent behaviour) or ‘re-socialisation’. By nature, the process of shifting from a radicalised environment to mainstream society takes time. Besides working on mind-set, exit workers also take care of practical arrangements such as education and housing.

Besides facilitating the exchange of knowledge and good practices between exit workers, RAN EXIT will also work on the development of evidence-based interventions and familiarisation with similar programmes outside the EU.
