Estonia

The Estonian national contact point for EMN is part of Tallinn University (TLU). TLU was appointed as the EE NCP by means of the Minister of the Interior 20 January 2015 Order No 1-3/45 “Appointing the national contact point”. In the structure of TLU the EE NCP is situated under the School of Governance, Law and Society (SOGOLAS), which enables the NCP to work closely with other strong expert groups that engage in research, development and teaching in the areas of migration policy, migration experiences, mobility, as well as issues related to integration and ethnic and civic identity./p>

In 2015 EE NCP staffs consisted of three experts and one coordinator working on full time basis, as well as two part-time experts, one of whom focusses on administrative support (work load 0,5) and the other one on communication (with work load 0,25). The staff are responsible for carrying out the tasks of the EMN work programme in Estonia, i.e. to collect and produce studies on migration and asylum; submit and replay ad hoc queries; enter information on EE NCP homepage and keep the information up to date. They also work out the asylum and migration glossary and thesaurus and organise annual conferences concerning asylum and migration topics. Moreover, EE NCP staff focusses more than before on coordinating, informing and supporting the local network of organisations working in the areas of international protection and migration.
