Effect is an important research project that the European Union is funding and actively supporting. It is intended to enhance the sharing of information about gun-enabled crime transnationally across Europe with a view of reducing the threat posed by the illegal supply and use of firearms. The Effect Project commenced on the 2nd February 2015 and will end on January 31st 2016.
The Project is being led and managed by Coventry University, UK in the role of Project Coordinator. The University of Calabria, Italy is a Project Co-beneficiary. The National Criminalistics Technical Centre, Serbia and The Forensic Science Services of the Italian State Police are Associate Partners of the Project. Arquebus Solutions Ltd is a subcontractor on the project.
