Setting the facts straight

The EU can be complex. The legislation adopted is not always easy to digest. Many EU issues are widely covered in the media. Much coverage is factual, much contains perfectly valid opinions or arguments, but every now and then some items come along that are inaccurate, misleading, slanted, downright mischievous or even completely made up. In today’s age, the misconceptions can spread rapidly.

On the new website launched today, the European Commission spokesperson service is hoping to help to set the facts straight and explain the reality behind some of the more eye-catching headlines. For every story there is a comments section with the possibility to ask further detail or discuss the content.
