Today, the European Commission proposed increasing funding for Home Affairs while improving and simplifying the way EU financing is delivered. For the next Multiannual Financial Framework (period 2014-2020), the Commission is proposing an overall Home Affairs budget of €10.9 billion. This represents an increase of almost 40% compared to the total budget for the period 2007-2013. The amount will be divided into two funds - a new Asylum and Migration Fund with an overall budget of €3,869 million and a new Internal Security Fund worth €4,648 million.
