European Parliament for stronger legislation against child sexual abuse

The European Parliament has voted today on the European Commission's proposal for a Directive on combating sexual abuse, sexual exploitation of children and child pornography. The final text endorses the Commission's holistic approach, including provisions not only on the prosecution of offenders, but also on the prevention of offences and protection of child victims.
