A chromosome is a single package of ADN, and a set of associated protein molecules which help keep the ADN tightly coiled. It contains one extremely long ADN molecule, which includes a number of genes and non-genetic ADN sequences. Each human body cell contains 23 pairs of chromosomes in its nucleus, including one pair of sex chromosomes.
