Joint Procurement Agreement - List of EU countries
On 18 April 2016, Germany became the 24th EU country to sign the Joint Procurement Agreement to procure medical countermeasures .
Due to the federal structure of Germany, the Agreement has to be signed by both, the federal government and by the Region/Land chairing the "Conference of the Health Ministers of the German regions/Länder". Federal Health Minister Herman Gröhe and Regional Minister Birgit Hesse (from Mecklenburg – Vorpommern) will sign the Joint Procurement Agreement for Germany.
The Agreement will now cover 447.8 million of the 508.2 million EU citizens, i.e. more than 88% of the population of the Union.
