Enamel is the hard calcified tissue which covers
the dentine of a tooth.
It is the hardest substance produced by vertebrates.
Enamel is composed almost entirely of inorganic
calcium phosphate (apatite), most of which is
arranged in a crystalline
lattice structure. |
