Carbamide peroxide, (CH4N2O.H2O2), is a chemical that contains hydrogen peroxide and urea – an organic compound. Its structural formula is:

Pure carbamide peroxide has the form of white crystals or crystal powder, is soluble in water, and contains approximately 35% hydrogen peroxide.

Carbamide peroxide is used as bleach or disinfectant in consumer products such as hair bleaches, hair perming products, hair relaxers, ear drops, antiseptic mouth washes, products to treat mouth sores, toothpastes, and tooth bleaching. It is also used in solutions for the disinfection of contact lenses and wounds.
