Koliko je sigurna upotreba kirurške mrežice u uroginekološkim zahvatima?

Profesor Christopher Chapple, dr. med., glavni tajnik Europskog urološkog društva i SCENIHR-ov posebni izvjestitelj za Mišljenje o kirurškim mrežicama

Budući da je upotreba kirurške mrežice u uroginekološkim zahvatima postala sve češća, sve je više prijavljenih slučajeva negativnih posljedica povezanih s tom upotrebom, kao što su infekcije, erozija tkiva, eksponiranje mrežice, smanjenje mrežice, bol i seksualna disfunkcija.  Zato je Europska komisija zatražila od svojega neovisnog Znanstvenog odbora za nove i novoutvrđene zdravstvene rizike (SCENIHR) da procijeni zdravstvene rizike povezane s upotrebom kirurške mrežice.
