The aim of the EU Health Award for NGOs Working to Prevent Tobacco Use is to reward outstanding initiatives by NGOs which have helped achieve higher levels of public health for Europeans through actions aimed at avoiding tobacco use initiation among adolescents and young adults.
European Commissioner Vytenis Andriukaitis, will announce the winners of the 2018 EU Health Award for NGOs Working to Prevent Tobacco Use. More than150 participants will have the opportunity to discuss a wide range of health topics. The meeting will be webstreamed.
The Steering Group on Health Promotion, Disease Prevention and Management of Non-Communicable Diseases was formalised in July 2018 with a goal of supporting EU countries in reaching the health targets of the Sustainable Development Goals.
