Products Concerned Organisation of remote gambling such as sports betting, card games and casino games by way of telecommunications devices and systems; for the operation of traditional gaming casinos, organisation of casino games by way of telecommunications devices and systems 7. Notification Under Another Act - 8. Main Content Based on the draft, online sports betting – within the domain of non-liberalised remote gambling – may exclusively be organised by the wholly state-owned gaming service provider 'Szerencsejáték Zrt.' whereas online casino and card games may be organised exclusively by holders of concession rights to operate traditional gaming casinos. With regard to this amendment, the draft also includes legal and tax provisions related to concessions. For the organisation of remote gambling, servers shall be kept in Hungary by the wholly state-owned gaming service provider "Szerencsejáték Zrt." only; this obligation shall not be imposed on other organisers. According to a provision of the draft relating to the operation of traditional gaming casinos, such gaming casinos may be operated by way of telecommunications devices and systems and, in the course of the operation of gaming casinos, casino games may also be conducted by way of telecommunications devices and systems. 9. Brief Statement of Grounds The amendment concerns the content (indicated in point 8) of Act No XXXIV of 1991 on gambling operations and Act No XVI of 1991 on concessions. 10.
