    La Medicina Física y Rehabilitación es una especialidad médica a la que concierne el diagnóstico, evaluación, prevención y tratamiento de la incapacidad con el objeto de facilitar, mantener y recuperar el mayor grado de capacidad funcional e independencia posible a los pacientes afectados por la misma.

    Sus actividades se centran fundamentalmente, en las enfermedades y problemas que afectan a los sistemas musculoesquelético, neurológico, cardíaco y vascular, respiratorio y endocrino, abordando asimismo disfunciones urogenitales, por dolor y cáncer, por quemaduras, transplantes y amputaciones.

    Utilizando la Medicina Física,  los medios farmacológicos.y las medidas físicas no ionizantes y  la rehabilitación , favoreciendo la integración social del discapacitado en la comunidad.

    Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is a medical specialty which concerns the diagnosis, evaluation, prevention and treatment of disability in order to facilitate, support and recover both functional capacity and independence of affected patients to a major degree.

    Its activities focus mainly on the diseases and problems that affect the musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiac and vascular, respiratory and endocrine systems, also addressing urogenital dysfunctions, for pain and cancer, burns, transplants and amputations.

    Using Physical Medicine, pharmacological means and physical non-ionising measures and rehabilitation promotes social integration of the disabled in the community.
