    National legislation:

    1) Royal Decree 1393/2007, of 29 October, whereby the regulation of official university studies is established; agreement of the Council of Ministers of 14 December 2007 whereby the conditions of the programmes to practice the architectural profession are established. 2) Ministerial Order ECI/3856/2007, of 27 December, whereby the requirements for verification of official university degrees that enables to practice the architectural profession are established. 3) Ministerial Order EDU/2075/2010, of 29 de July, whereby the requirements for verification of official university degrees that enables to practice the architectural profession are established. 4) Building Act 38/1999, of 5 November, whereby the tasks that correspond to the different agents involved in the construction process are defined. 5) Royal Decree 2512/1977, of 17 June, whereby the architects’ fees applied to their services as architects are approved (paragraphs in force following Act 7/1997, of 14 April)

    Description of activities:

    Elaboración de los proyectos (proyectos básico y de ejecución, incluyendo el desarrollo de todos los aspectos constructivos, así como el diseño y cálculo de las instalaciones, la cimentación y la estructura, necesarios para la completa ejecución de la obra) y dirección de obras de edificación de toda clase. Son de la exclusiva competencia de los Arquitectos el proyecto y dirección de las obras de edificación destinadas a alguno de los siguientes usos: administrativo, sanitario, religioso, residencial en todas sus formas, docente y cultural. Elaboración de los instrumentos de Planeamiento Urbanístico de toda clase y Proyectos de Ejecución de los mismos.


    To develop conceptual, basic and detailed designs, including the development of all aspects of construction, and the design and calculation of facilities, foundations and structures, as required for the complete execution, as well as the management of building. The following types of buildings are the exclusive competence of architects, in terms of design, management and construction: office buildings, healthcare buildings, religious buildings, residential buildings, as well as building dedicated to academic and cultural purposes. To develop the complete Urban planning instruments, including Project execution plans, implementation and control.
