    Description of activities:

    Specijalist kardiolog posjeduje teorijska i praktična znanja i vještine koje ga kvalificiraju za samostalan rad sukladan predmetnoj specijalnosti i to: ekspertno poznavanje kardiovaskularne propedeutike, primarne i sekundarne kardiovaskularne prevencije, elektrokardiografije te neinvazivnih dijagnostičkih metoda (ergometrija, Holter, interpretacija tzv. kontinuiranoga mjerenja arterijskog tlaka); poznavanje indikacija za slikovne pretrage i metode za oslikavanje aorte i perifernih krvnih žila. U djelokrug rada specijalista kardiologa spada i akutno i intenzivno liječenje hitnih stanja u kardiologiji, kao i dijagnostika i neintervencijsko liječenje bolesti srčanih zalistaka te dijagnostika i liječenje prirođenih bolesti srca, perifernih arterija i vena. Posjeduje cjelovito znanje o dijagnostici i liječenju različitih oblika i faza zatajivanja srca te o teorijskoj i praktičnoj kardiovaskularnoj farmakologiji u hitnim i kroničnim stanjima i bolestima u kardiologiji.

    A cardiology specialist possesses theoretical and practical knowledge and skills that qualify him for independent work in accordance with the subject speciality, namely: expert knowledge of cardiovascular propaedeutics, primary and secondary cardiovascular prevention, electrocardiography and non-invasive diagnostic methods (ergometry, Holter, interpretation of the so-called continuous measurement of arterial pressure); knowledge of indications for imaging tests and methods for imaging the aorta and peripheral blood vessels. The scope of work of a specialist cardiologist includes acute and intensive treatment of emergency cardiac conditions and the diagnosis and non-interventional treatment of the heart valve disease, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart diseases, peripheral artery disease and vein disease. The cardiologist has complete knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of various forms and stages of heart failure, as well as theoretical and practical cardiovascular pharmacology in emergency and chronic cardiac conditions and diseases.
