    Description of activities:

    Liječnici specijalisti neurokirurgije posjeduju teorijska znanja iz anatomije, fiziologije i patologije središnjeg živčanog sustava, osnovna neurološka i neuroradiološka znanja potrebna u dijegnostičkoj procjeni bolesnika, te praktične neurokirurške vještine. Oni dijagnosticiraju, operiraju i prate bolesnike kroz perioperativno razdoblje te kroz dulji period putem ambulantnog praćenja. Područje njihovog liječenja obuhvaća bolesnike sa traumom središnjeg živčanog sustava, kranijalnim i spinalnim tumorima, spontanim intrakranijskim krvarenjima uključujući krvožilne malformacijame središnjeg živčanog sustava,  infekcijama središnjeg živčanog sustava, hidrocefalusom, degenerativnim bolestima kralješnice te bolesnike pedijatrijske dobi sa neurokirurškim dijagnozama. Specijalisti neurokirurgije uključeni su u znanstvena medicinska istraživanja i rad u edukaciji neurokirurških specijalizanata i studenata medicine.

    Medical specialists in neurosurgery aquired theoretical knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the nervous system, basic neurological and neuroradiological assesment skills and practical neurosurgical skills. They diagnose, operate, manage perioperative care and follow-up on patients with CNS trauma, cranial and spinal tumors, spontaneous intracranial hemorrage including vascular malformations of the CNS, CNS infections, hydrocephalus, degenerative spine disease and pediatric neurosurgical cases. Neurosurgical specialists are engaged in medical research and education of neurosurgical residents and medical students.
