4.1. Direct funding to business R&D and innovation

Presentation of the measure:

The programme offers funding opportunities for a wide range of technical innovation projects. It supports the innovation and competitiveness in SMEs. Supported are research and development projects that lead to new products, technical services or better production processes.

Research and development projects include single projects (individual business) or projects undertaken as a cooperation project with several companies or projects undertaken with companies with research institutions.
For companies, the eligible project costs are limited to €380,000. The funding rate is between 25 and 55 percent. For research instutitions, the funding rate is of 100 percent and they can receive funding of up to €190,000.

SMEs and medium-sized companies with less than 500 employees and an annual turnover of less than €50m and based in Germany are supported by the programme.
