The purpose of the climate roadmap is to provide a framework and a strategic direction for how the changeover is to be implemented. The climate goals have already been set through the national climate policy framework and RUFS 2050: The region will achieve net-zero emissions by 2045, and both direct and indirect emissions per inhabitant will in principle be halved by 2030 compared to 2014, while energy use will be streamlined and energy production in the county will be completely renewable.
Based on international and national climate goals, the roadmap creates a framework for the continued long-term work of switching to fossil-free and that achieve a region without climate impact. The climate roadmap is also a tool for the region's actors to find the most appropriate, cost-effective interventions for their own organizations.
