The University of Salamanca is a public institution of higher education founded in 1218 and it is placed in the city of Salamanca.
The mission of USAL is:

  • The expansion, study and integration of knowledge through the research in all knowledge fields;
  • Critical transmission of knowledge through teaching activity; contribution to training and development of qualified professionals; promotion and dissemination of Spanish language; promotion and expansion of culture and knowledge through programmes of permanent training and university extension;
  • Scientific, technical and cultural knowledge transfer in collaboration with social stakeholders for the development and improvement of life quality in Castilla y León;
  • Increase of cooperation activities at national and international level.

The main activities of the University of Salamanca are:

  • Teaching - Transmit knowledge, train in skills;
