The Torun Agency for Regional Development is a public institution founded in 1995 with the objective to support small and medium enterprises and co-operate with local authorities and stakeholders to contribute to the development of Kujawsko-Pomorskie region. The main shareholder of the Agency is the regional government (64%).
The Agency, founded in 1995, supports local initiatives to prepare various local strategies for local authorities, and other regional economic and social stakeholders. It prepares feasibility studies and business plans for infrastructural and investment projects, organises trainings, seminars and conferences. The Agency also supported the regional development acting as a financing agency for the national EU programmes in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie (several measures within the OP Innovative Economy). The main activities can be summarised as follows:
Implementation of EU Structural Funds;
Advisory services regarding the knowledge and technology transfer;
Management of regional cluster projects;
Advisory services to support international economic co-operation;
Advisory services to support the access to the EU structural funds;
Organisation of trainings, workshops and conferences.
The Agency also hosts the regional office of the Enterprise Europe Network, which offer in addition support services for technology transfer and innovation in enterprises.
It is worth to mention the Torun Technology Park, which operates as a separated organisational unit of the Agency. The Torun Technology Park (TTP), set up in 2005, has its main objective to attract investors to the city and to create favourable conditions for economic activity and entrepreneurship. The TTP is a member of Polish Business and Innovation Centres Association, as well as a member of Consortium of Polish Technology Park. Currently, the Agency's most important and largest investment is the Exea Data Center.
