Introduction

Campania is located in Southern Italy. With a population of about5.9 million people in 2018, Campania is the third most populated and the most densely Italian region with 429 inhabitants per square kilometer.
The region covers an area of 13,590 km2 (5,247 sq. mi.)  and has a coastline of 350 km (217 mi.) on the Tyrrhenian Sea. Four regions border Campania: Lazio to the northwest, Molise to the north, Apulia (Puglia) to the northeast and Basilicata to the east. The regional Capital is Naples.
